Words Left Unspoken
As my soul wanders within the ether
The visiting of poets passed
Subjugating my mind
To the recitation of poetry
Left unsaid…
They are but four…
Whilst I alone
Must listen to their voices…
All chattering within
The same moment in time
I find it most difficult
To distinguish one from the other
Whilst the rhymes of all four
Make no rhyme at all…
Causing my abandonment of reason,
Leaving such nonsense to that of another…
I have asked for only one
To speak inside my head…
For the echoes of the four,
Resounding against the walls
Of my skull…
Lie far beyond the comprehension
Of my humanness…
What I do understand within my head
Is the four of them in their excitement,
Discovering someone who will listen to their voices
Who may someday…
Or perhaps in this very moment…
Understand their aching hearts…
Their gratitude apparent
From the smiles upon their
Ever changing faces of eternity…
For they have lived many lives
Before me…
They have in their sincerity
Requested of me…
Me…
One of un-normal thoughts
And questionable sanity…
To ask of all who may find
These words before their very eyes…
If you…
The readers and writers of poetry…
Those whose minds and hearts and souls
Dwell within the ether of both worlds…
Have paused to linger within the stillness…
And listened for the voices
Of poets passed?
For they are within your touch…
Awaiting your perceptions…
Waiting to speak with you
Without words…
To permeate your very soul…
With words left unspoken….

I like this a lot! I once said when someone asked me what I thought about something and I said well 4 out of the 5 voices agree and said this but they seem to argue a lot. I think I’m losing! Not making fun at all but in unison with all that is fighting to get attention in my blond brain. Sometimes it’s a battle just to have a clear thought! I like the last comment you made about un-normal! 😀 What is normal anyway?
