Poetically Un-normal
By the un-normal poet
I’m standing before a blank page
Blank mind looking back from the stage
The stage replete with pretenders
Pretenders not far from a rage
The fire escape dripping in rain
Still dripping on links from the chains
Chains that have bound all that’s tender
While tenderness searches in vain
If time could stand still within space
Within all the truth that’s displaced
Displacing the love in surrender
Surrendering lines on my face
If I could pen words in the clay
Some words from a poet’s café
Poetry rhymed to remember
Remembering dawns when you stayed

I’m not sure how normal that is as poet’s go, but I enjoyed your heart and thoughts as always, Michael. Hope your day is/was/will be wonderful 🙂

Thank you Laine… I guess normal is relative to each one of us individually. Who would want to be normal anyway? My day is/was/and will be wonderful because I woke up this morning and was able to get out of bed and make my way to the coffee pot. Good day… Hope yours is most wonderful as well…

Oh, dear. My comment should have read – I’m not so sure how un-normal that is as poets go. My apologies, Micheal.
Some days when it comes to happiness, I have to fake it until I make it. Just a side note: Did you know if you fake a smile your muscles don’t know the difference? The muscles in your mouth send a message to the brain asking for dopamine (the happy hormone), and the brain sends it!
Wishing you a smile with your morning coffee ….

I’m not sure there is a normal.. so un-normal sounds more real to me.

Well, of course it would… since you are also un-normal. That’s why I like spending time on your site and interacting in our comments sections… Thanks for dropping by Tina.
Hope your evening is wonderfully not normal…

Of course you’re not normal bulldog… I don’t follow “normal”… anyone that has viewed your photos, knows that you’re far above the normal… and I’m ‘bloody’ proud that you liked the post…

Thank you Sue… That ‘time’ thing is difficult to get to cooperate. If I’m going to get it to stand still… I’d better hurry… It’s showing ticks and tocks all over me… Glad you liked the poem and thank you so very much for taking the time to say so…
Hope your weekend is wonderfully peaceful as well…

I’m not so sure about the “brilliant” part, but not surprised that you liked it. After all… un-normal is in your DNA… Thank you for using it well… Posted lately? Hope your evening is most beautiful…
