When Moonlight is Hushed by the Rain

When Moonlight is Hushed by the Rain

When Moonlight is Hushed by the Rain

I surely could not have mistaken
The light in the calm fore the storm
It brought to me hues of the dawning
In poetry whispered and warm

But lamplight has always cast shadows
When moonlight is hushed by the rain
Where palettes touch softly the portraits
Of dilettantes lost in their pain

Though what if a miracle happened
And rain only brightened the bloom
Would sparrows sing songs in the willow
Would candlelight glow in my room

I surely could not have mistaken
The hope on the wings of the wren
While knowing that love lights a candle
With light in the words that we pen

Namasté

  1. WoW your muse does have a way with words, thank your muse on my behalf, and please, if you ever find the muse, tell her that I too, want to thank her for all the poets and poems that explain life and the mystery of creation through her poets.
